    Active members on the Model Forum may noticed that Imagevenue, one of the approved image hosts, has deleted pretty much ALL of the recent image posts here on Phun. :( What worse, this shit started to happened to my UpmyPhotos links. :-x I wonder if this board has become a target of DMCA or the approved hosts?? :15: Have the crews talked to the imagehosts? Anyway, whether the answers be yes or not,     I sincerely suggest all contributors on Model Forum STOP using imagevenue or we may get into bigger troubles. :pat:

    I don't think it's the fault of imagevenue, other than by being an extremely popular imagehost, and consequently a likely target! All the imagehosts seem to say "how quickly, how high and how far?" when the DMCA folk say jump! It's simply not in their interests to do otherwise!

    This is neither imagevenue's fault nor our fault. And you also can't be a target of DMCA. It's just a law that copyright holder use to get their content off hosting websites. You need to contact the hoster with a DMCA request, in order to get your content removed.

    It only means that somebody is really busy keeping his content of imagevenue...

    It occurred to me after my last comment yesterday that the folder and file names I'd used on imagevenue for the pics that were deleted could not easily have been identified at that end by a DMCA hound, so I have to conclude that the stuff was traced from phun.org itself! Pretty easy to do, and perfectly legit! In which case it makes no difference which imagehost one uses! Those of us who've been affected in the last day or so just happen to be using imagevenue, but the result would have been the same whichever imagehost we'd used!

    Maybe not even traced from Phun at all, some of these pirates just steal all of your codes and paste them into other forums, eventually either the server requests get out of hand or someone does report them but from another forum, and they get taken down.

    I seem to recall the suggestion - last year, was it? - that "quotes" of the first post in a thread be disabled in vBulletin, thereby denying access to the poster's code. I can't remember why it was being considered before, or why it was never implemented, but it may well need considering again! phun stuff is being pirated all over the place!

    seriously, your only worry with Image Venue is if your the poster they may ban your ip but not phuns. Phun has no liabilities concerning what is displayed here.

    Phun must have grabbed the attn of companies That make money trolling forums for their client, They send the DMCA themselves saving thieir client time.

    I probably remove 2000 images a day due to these companies.
