Yea with the state of the economy right now a small business is a lil more risky. The pay is good tho and as of now my job is not in any danger. I tend to lean more towards company, because of the fact that you just blend into the crowd. Its a double edged sword. On one hand I like that I have a good amount of authority, but on the other hand that also comes with a lot of responsibility. Either way, if something does happen, itll look good on my resume

Heathcare isn't going anywhere that's for sure. No matter how bad the economy you've still got to have hospitals. My only worries is there's starting to be a trend of outsourcing most if not all IT. People like InfoPartners are taking over shops left and right now. Out director retired shortly ago. They are interviewing people for it now. Just depends on who they hire and what they believe in whether or not they keep us here.

I'd be hard for someone else to come in here and take over though. Not pulling my own chain but i've been here almost 16 years now. When I first came they still have a System 38 - no client/server apps at all. We've now got 80+ servers - all of which i've done the install on and maintain. If they did decide to outsorce it I wouldn't tell anyone shit! They'd have to figure it out on their own.

 

I know thats right. If they do you dirty like that after all that effort they deserve nothing less.
