    Thats tuff! I'm seriously starting to worry about that myself. Out Director just retired a couple weeks ago and i'm about 90% sure their going to outsource his position. If they do, most of those folks decide to outsource the entire IT department. I've been here almost 16 years now, being in education i'm sure you get behind in current technology like I do - that's why i'm worried.

    Ha, we still run poweredge 6400 servers. It took me 3 YEARS to get them to buy me a open license to run ghost across the network. We still have attendance scanners running win95C because the sw wont run win2k<.

    As far as corporate viability goes I'm screwed with a 5 foot pipe wrench.

    We're not that bad off - we get new servers with each new app that comes in. We've got mid 80's different application servers, most of which on 2K and some 2003 mixed in. I'd say we got about 1K w/s with 60% being 2K and the 40 being XP. None of our apps work on Vista so we had to back-rev all those to XP.

    Yeah, that's what I was talking about...having to get another job outside of healthcare would be tuff for me.
