The choice was hard! Great job guys.

 

Seeing as most of the members who frequent into the Creative Backyard will visit this thread I thought I'd say it here instead of creating a new one.

The sig threads names will not be changed because toolz "owns" the threads and doesn't want them changed.
Thanks to all who voted in the other thread.

The first post says this This is everybodys sig thread, not just mine

The vote was 16-0 for about two weeks and then one realy late vote for no.
It was a great idea, the threads stay the same great thread but would have been tidied up for the future.

Mental, i really didn't expect that, i bet no-one else did either. Can't imagine why T would be so against renaming the threads when everyone voted yes.

i hear you. and it's also a shame that tools hasn't said any of this publically, so we have had these threads and discussions in the forum issues thread but he never voiced what he wanted. i know he had left phun forever when i brought up this issue but since he has been back he hasn't mentioned anything.

Yeah, i thought it was a no brainer. I was genuinely shocked to see anyone disagree with such a good idea. especially as it's a public thread.

You only have to be registered to vote, so "johnny 2 posts" could walk in and vote against anyone.

That or someone really didn't like the idea. :roll:

I would have voted for it had I seen the thread. Seemed like a very sensible idea to me.

 

That was the general consensus of everyone who voted. It would just make the place flow better.

Like when I got a few pm's from people about the SOTW archive being slow, I made the SOTW index. Sometimes you gotta listen to the people who contribute and view these threads and consider them. Yeah it's a bit of extra work but what people want I will try and give them. Having these titles changed is no big deal whatsoever. It should cause no grief to the thread "creator".

 

My opinion: It would be nice if an agreement could be reached on renaming the threads. The way I see it it is currently messy, I dont bother going in because I dont know whats where or whatever, so I just swerve it. No doubt they need to be tidied up.

That said , an active member started the threads and I dont beleive, regardless of votes, that other people's threads should be deleted/ renamed, while they are active.

That said the thread starter could help - there must be a compromise, the threads need changing and if people co-operate and talk it can be achieved.

If the threads are "everyones" then that should allow for the name change which the overwhelming majority voted for. Obviously toolz cares a lot about the threads as it brought him out of retirement to stop the name change, but his wishes must be respected too..

i have sent pm's to toolz and he has sent some back. he has a nice way with words.

the thread is everyones, even he stated that in the OP. it's a thread that a lot of people contribute to and enjoy. we'd like the names changed. i asked him via pm before i posted that it wasn't going to be changed above and again, he politly said no and to go away.

 

I just have to ask, Did anyone talk to Toolz before starting the thread and voting? Since they are his threads he should have been approached first.

 

I dont want to get involved. But when the thread was started toolz had started another thread in general chat saying he was leaving phun for ever. The voting thread was started in his absence.

 

Yep, what gap said. He had left phun forever. But even when he came back there was no mention of it from him in any of the threads, I have said that in a few posts now.

 

I think who started the thread has zero relevance. It was my original idea. I brought it up as i had seen it at a GTA board and some of the lads thought it was ace. I went to create the thread and Toolz had already done it. It was no big deal, the thread needed to get started. So if it wasn't toolz that night it would have been me, and if it wasn't me it would have been someone else.

The threads belong to all the lads involved.

But the opinions of us seem not to be as important right now. Let's not get into trouble and get on with things, the titles won't be tidied up unfortunately.
