Signature of the Week - Discussion thread

SOTY is the same as SOTW, but the voting is on the previous SOTW winners, there will be 52 to choose from. but all i was saying is it would be cool if it was integrated into the phun awards.
but i also love the new idea for the phun awards where by the artist puts forward their own sig that they made and people choose from them.

 

It's a difficult choice to please everyone but last year we just ended up with something like 40+ sigs last year and it would be nice to have a clear contest rather than loads of single sig votes.

 

I understand but, I cant see SOTY being an exclusive sig makers deal. If I see a sig I like, no matter if it was in a contest or not, I'd like the choice of casting my vote for it in the annual awards. If everyone insists on having a contest within a contest, have the makers submit their best for the makers award. That still excludes a maker who's chosen not to participate, an idea that seems unfair to me for Phun as a whole.

 

It is slightly unfair i guess. And i see your point. I think the other ideas are still good but if it causes friction then i'll leave it as is.

 

Imho the sig of the year shouldn't be picked from JUST the winners of the sig of the weeks.

What if someone makes an awsome sig but never enters in in sotw because it never fits the theme.

That's why I think people should enter their best work of the year themselfs.

 

It was just another idea. A good one but a flawed one so the rules stay the same as last year.

To avoid masses of posting work only the top three voted sigs will be posted.

 

you have me wrong, each week there is a SOTW winner, out of those there will be a winner pick for a SOTY. it has nothing to do with the other sig threads so it will be based on who has eneterd and who has won. we can just kepp it seperate from the awards thing and just have it as an ongoing thing to do with the SOTW.

I'm just curious if anyone guessed number 10 was mine. I made it in 10 seconds, but it was realy hard for me to enter that one, since I usually spend a lot of time editing/smudging/blurring/coloring/etc on my entry.
But I thought it was so clever that I just had to submit it .

I'm guessing nobody thought it was mine, if they know how I usually work and know my style a little.

 

I thought number 11 was yours bio with the border being similar to your last few sigs.

I thought about sending it without the border, but in the end I thought it was better with it.

It's an awsome sig. Only thing for me was wrath was a little hard to make out, maybe would've liked to see it a little darker.
