    cool. bostonis a big city so you should be good with channels. i have been on satelite for years now so i usually always have more than enough channels to watch
    never, our government believes in a free market, the channels broadcast the signal to get as many viewers as possible so they can charge companies to advertise with them. Kinda like how playboy sells a subscription at a loss ut makes it up on the advertising revenues.

    also our government wants as many people with radio and tv as possible so they can broadcast emergency information in case of major disasters.

    my family and I share 1 sattelite tv account so each family member only pays about 25 bucks a month for 140+ channels

    See over here you have 2 main options for extra channels. Sky satellite which gives you hundreds but costs £40 a month, not including the extortionate prices for big boxing matches or box office movies. The other is called freeview and is what I have. It costs about £20 for a box and you receive about 50 channels. Most are crap but it's not too bad.

    no, my dad has a huge house with 5 bedrooms when all the kids use to live there. since the satellite tv company cannot tell where you live because it is just a satellite signal you intercept each one of the kids bought a dish from the flee market and we use our dad's satellite receivers and split them up. he only need 1 receiver but paid for 4 and each one of the kids took one. we each pay my dad $25 a month to leech off his account. :lol:

    Most of the license fee we pay goes to the BBC who don't have adverts. The problem is that it's mostly crap. They make amazing nature docs and have good comedy sometimes but most of the stuff they show is dire. Sadly we have no choice but to pay.
