I have never heard of anybody who has boiled crab and had second thoughts about saving them afterwards. This is stupid animal right's activists at their worste. Making up bullshit studies to try and use it to further their agendas.

We boil them all the time here in Sweden and any thoughts about them suffering we swallow with some nice "Schnapps" ...

i actually kill all of mine before i cook or boil them. there is a way to retain more flavor and moisture from the crab meat if you stab them in the heart first. they die almost instantaneously when you do so and don't have the time to stress and release the fluids in their bodies.

this is true, i call everybody by a nickname when i like them.

no, i think you guys just buy the crayfish from louisianna, their actual recipe for cajun style crayfish varys dramatically, here is one of them:

Ingredients:

* 3 x 35 pound bags crawfish
* 25 pounds red potatoes
* 2 pounds garlic
* 25 ea fresh corn cleaned and broken in half.
* 10 pounds salt
* 96 ounces vegetable cooking oil
* 1 8-ounces bottle Rex or Zatarain's Crab & Shrimp Boil liquid concentrate
* 20 ounces red (cayenne) pepper
* 20 ounces black pepper
* 4 ea box (bag) rex (or equal) crab & shrimp boil
* 32 ounces powdered louisiana (or equal) crab & shrimp boil

* 2 bottles 12 ounces catsup
* 2 bottles 12 ounces tabasco sauce
* 1 bottle 12 ounces horseradish
* 2 bottles squeeze butter
* 1 douncesen lemons
* 4 ea large yellow onions



the best ones are made from a butter sauce.
