    i have a 750gig external that i migrated all the info and data to, it is just a matter of reinstalling all the info and software all over again. This will take a shitload of time to do but i have done it many times.

    My mistake was when i downloaded a video converter program (it allows me to change any video format like quick times or mpeg to any other video file i wish. I scanned it and found it to be safe, but once installed there was a hidden Trojan inside that i could not delete or get rid of. These are email Trojans that takes over your computer and uses it to spam massive amounts of spam email. Since I can't contain it i will have to reformat the computer. Huge pain in my ass. :(

    Yeah. Friend of mine might have a virus that I am trying to help them get rid of. The problem is they need a good freeware virus scan that is as up to date as can be.

    go to www.download.com and look for avast home edition. it is free and is a great scanner.
