Signature of the Week - Discussion thread

The first two weeks i got my best friend to pick the sigs he liked and he picked mine both e time. I was chuffed, now competition has stepped right up.

He picks mince regular now.

 

Great job this week guys, a lot of awesome entries! I'm looking forward to next week already.

I voted for the Rage Against The Machine sig, I used to be so into them.

 

Nice competition this week, clear winner and lots of number 2's. So high quality again.

What do you guys think, should I not allow people to say what they voted for next week? Maybe we can vote for that

so many good ones to choose from this week made voting on one really hard. i also wished i could have entered more than one sig. i had a couple i really liked.

4 weeks and 4 different winners, that's awesome! i think i'd be less likely to keep entering if the same person won every week.

re: allowing people to say who they voted for. i'm torn

i like hearing others comments and if we wait til after the voting, some people may not make a comment. but i also think if people comment and point out specific technical flaws or exceptional photoshop effects, etc that some votes could be influenced even if it's not intended to do so.

what if you made it ok to comment on who you voted for in the discussion thread but not in the voting thread? can a poll thread be locked from accepting any comments but still allow voting?

i also wish the current results couldn't be viewed until after you've made your vote. if people sneak a peek at the results beforehand it could deter some from even voting (i.e. if one sig is way ahead with only a few hours left to vote, some people may think, why even bother). i've seen polls on other sites where you can only view the results after you vote, so i know it can be set up that way.

the ideal voting sequence would be:
1) cast vote, 2) view current results, 3) view other's comments on who they voted for, but right now the way things are set up, i'm tempted to do it in the reverse order.

Congrats Lukin, i voted for you myself. My initial choice was jay's though.

This has fast become my favourite part of being a phunner.

 

You know what? I just saw jays sig on this monitor at work and it looks 10 times better. I must have a shit monitor at home.
