Fire is nature's way of cleaning house. For a long time the government had a policy of fire abatement in place here until a decade ago a small fire at Yellowstone Nat'l Park got out of hand and burned a several dozen million acres and nearly destroyed a national treasure because it was choked with dead trees and underbrush that wouldn't otherwise have been there if they hadn't try to manage nature. The biggest problem is people insist on building homes were wildfires are a natural occurence, and end up paying the price. Same with people who build homes in flood plains, or areas prone to landslides. Fools.
