Was hard to pick my between my fave 2 - After voting, I see they both have the most votes

Great job guys.

 

As an observation: I voted on which I thought looked best. However that may not be a reflection of how much work went in on the original pic (if that made sense) Maybe when submitting the creater could give a two line outline of their work? ie -shaded this, cropped that, merged 3 images?

Just a suggestion.

ps It is up and running and a big success IMO, I think everyone should get behind it or maybe not post in here at all. again IMO.

We could require the participants to send (or give a link to) the original pic, but I don't realy mind. Something made in 10 minutes could look better than something that took hours. After all it is about the endresult.

Here's something interesting by the way... there's 1 sig that has 0 votes. Does that mean it's the worst sig?
But it could also be that people think it's second best.
A 1st, 2nd and 3rd place vote would give better insight in things like this.... maybe next week?

 

that's true. My second fav isn't getting much love from the voters, but I thought it was great, just got edged out by one..

and if these go into the hall of fame afterward then that'd be cool.

yeah, it's def a sucess and if more people put a link under their sig then it would be even more!
i don't think a 1st 2nd 3rd place would be the best way to go about it imo. it'd get messy, and what if a certain sig didn't get any votes at all?
i think one vote is the best way.

 

Alright I am man enough to admit that I was wrong. I had a fear that a thread like this would promote arguements about whose sig was better than the other. I have always tried to encourage, not discourage. I never thought that the idea of this was completely bad, but you ALL have proved me wrong, and I can accept that, and am happy that you did.
I really hope that it will be a continued success.

The most important part is that the spirit of sig-making here at phun needs to remain intact....i think it will.

All of the entries were very, very, good. I had a difficult time choosing.
And so you all know, I was the 1st one to vote.

P.S......My entry will be there next week.

 

Guys, posting links to the original, explanations of the process, 1st-2nd-3rd votes,.....too complicated by far.

Post a sig, vote on someone elses.

I think it's realy cool that you say that, toolz. And I'm already looking forward to your entry next week. You participating will make the voting even harder I think .

By the way: Should I keep organising the competitions or will we have someone else do it every week? I'm glad to do it, if it doesn't bother anyone that I know who's sig is whom's (not that I base my vote on that)

 

I don't mind showing the original pic/pics used to make a sig but I'd wait till after the voting. I don't think it would be right if somebody voted for a sig because more techniques/brushes/pics were used to make it.

Not everybody likes those kind of techniques spider. Everybody has different likes and dislikes. Some of the best sigs ever here at phun by phun artists have been very simple. Technique means nothing.

 

Its your thread. If you want to do that, thats entirely up to you. I think you should. You can pick each weeks theme.

if people were to do this the it would HAVE to be after the winner is announced. just so it's anon.

 

I am glad things are working out with everybody.

Just some of my thoughts:

make the voting less than a week long if it is a weekly contest. That way the voting isn't as long as the contest itself. i would like to suggest 3-5 days voting max so that we can get an idea as to who won before the next week's contest is over.

Also i would not recommend posting what was done or who made what sig so that it is a completely unbiased vote. The last thing i want is this to be come a sympathy vote or people voting for friends. I honestly don't know who did what in here but i can roughly tell who's techniques went into which sig.

I still like to guess though so don't tell me!

If there is a tie may I suggest letting the mods group together and decide? Unless you guys are completely fine with having two winners.


Lastly this is based on an honour system of voting. Please do not create separate accounts to vote for your sigs please.

it is sunday to sunday. all sigs in by thurs, then voting till sunday. then new theme and then that week starts. so each sig of the week is a one week thing.

yeah a mod decider could work good, but i have no probs with two winners either.

i have noticed a lot of new accounts today
none are me!

 

My idea was to have the voting end on sunday, new theme announced on monday and then voting from friday til sunday again.

The winner of this week gets to choose next weeks theme so we NEED to close the voting before we can begin with a new week

Entries will remain anonymous, but votes won't be (at least I don't think so because I hope to have more than 10 entries next week) because the poll limit of 10 options.
