Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     hi,

    one of the suggestions of our hoster to increase performance (decrease server-load) was to disable the award-system. sorry, but at least we need to check this out.

    why?...it's an award..it's an annual thing for phun members... going by that logic an oscar is only worth a couple of months of honour? it's an annual thing, and if the award system is slowing phun down, then fair enough, shut it down, but the award itself isn't "past its shelf life".

    one could move this award trophy thingy to their sig, in that way, they display it as they want, phun provides the image and they get to work it in. or not

    ever get to the end of a sentence and change your mind, i need ot learn to type faster.

    At the end of the day if a record of who won what is retained we can add are awards under the sig if it is so wished. If it helps the site run smoother I'd take them down.

    I didn't mean it to come out the way it did, Sid! Of course we're all pleased and proud to have received our awards, and of course they're "valid" until the next year's award event, but Oscar winners don't go everywhere throughout the following year still clutching their Oscars so that everyone can see them (much as some of them would like, perhaps ;)) No, they end up at home on the mantelpiece or in a display cabinet, and they get on with their lives! That's what I really meant! :D

    If its good for the site then i think everyone would agree do whats best.

    What about putting one medal out (the members highest medal) and then a number next to it? Or if that doesnt work telling members to put their medals in their sig.

    I;m sure we could come up with a uniform medal for all.

    Maybe we can make the awards be an user's note. You can still look and see what people have won but still they're out of the general view for people. It'll probably add more work though.
