I would like to show what I mean by extending the sig limitations. My two previous uploads were at 450x150. If we could change that to 450x250 they would look like this:




This particular sig is what gave me the idea to request. To me, a slightly taller sig would allow for more creativity and imagination.

Having less space just minimizes opportunity, and in some cases, the ruins image. There are different views on this at which will make this a lost cause. It is understandable that there is no reason for such an adjustment for a simple sig. But we could have much more creativity and diversity with this change.

Just a request as noted on the attached post. But I may be in the minority on this one.

 

IMO those sigs are way too big. I like the 450 x 150 rule.

Yea, I hate to admit it-but looking at it a few times-I do see how much extra room they take up. Oh well, they do look better in contrast to the smaller versions.

Short lived idea.

 

By the way, I think I am out of the loop as I see everyone posting this, but what does the acronym "IMO" stand for?

The 450x150 rule is perfect for in your sig but experimenting with sigs in here is fun. I have two vertical sigs i'm going to post when i get home tonight.

i had a go at making a sig lastnight.

here is the first i made...



then i tried with a blur filter.... but fucked up the text, so need to redo it at some point....



and then i tried it with a neon filter, which i think looks cool.......

 

Love these - Ages ago I questioned why the sigs were confined to the "rectangle" these break out efforts are the dogs.

 

i genuinly think the 450x150 versions he made look better. the bigger ones look stretched.

 

I think 450x150 is plenty enough space for a sig, i know of another forum were your only allowed 400x75px/<20kb for sigs, it's a fucker tryin to make something at those tolerances.

 

I wouldnt mind bigger sigs...but i can live with the existing rules!

 

But I can see the arguement made by mods that a sig is exactly that - a sig. And therefore shouldn't detract from the page contents. It is like a bonus!
