As i stated earlier. i never once said that what terra did was fake. i never said that there wasn't something there. i merely posted the original and had the people determine for themselves. i wasn't jumping down anyone's throat for it.

i couldn't agree more especially with an accusation such as "you don't know what you are doing (goes to x-caliber0069 as well)" from someone that obviously knows very little about graphics and color management (obviously not referring to you here, CT)

as do i. i'm in the same boat as you. i've been a graphic designer for longer than i can remember and i started to post here for the same reason as you. and yes you never once said that you were the end-all be-all of determining what is real and what isn't but your attitude leaves a lot to be desired when you look down on those that are new just because they are new. treating them as inferior and unknowledgeable. that's where the whole "ruling the roost" comes into play.

as i've said, i'm with you and terra about all these doubters as well while at the same as you i'm also an advocate of keeping it real and i'm not gonna be like one gonna go in here and kiss ass to you guys just because you've gotten a legacy here. that's not me and maybe that annoys you. it doesn't matter to me.

also, just to clarify, i am not competing with you. i merely want to try my hand at the pics that i find are possibilities, some happen to be ones you've done, some aren't but i'm sorry if you thought i was outrightly trying to compete with you. i wasn't. i do it for my own enjoyment and to share with others. fact is i didn't even know that you made that claim of anyone's free to whatever with your past x-rays.

with all that said .. i guess we all got started on the wrong foot getting to know one another .. we've got the same interests and ideals as far as this topic goes yet how we treat one another is not with the respect one another deserves... i'll admit to my own faults and propose we start this over in sharing this topic and promoting this thread and the participation of this thread if you're willing.. i leave the ball in your court

 

X-Caliber. I've read your comments over the last couple pages and agree with you 100% on most of your views, especialy with regards to some veterans being intolerant to critisism yet glady going after others work they didnt agree with. Thats just 1 of the reasons I stopped contributing here. I saw other fine artists driven away for the same reasons, artists that could have made some great contributions here. I had better things to do with my time and had requests for other projects, on and off Phun, involving far less BS and sanctimoneous attitudes. The trolls were more easily ignored.

Its also been very discouraging to see the preaching of "No Fakes" yet some of the veterans are making obvious adjustments that cant be interpreted any other way. So much bickering about dodge and burn versus other forms of manipulation (brightness/ contrast/hue/saturation/yada/yada)...so much of it is the same thing with the ONLY difference being the tools used. It boils down to the extreme of any method used, as any of them can be (and have been) overdone.

Adressed to newcomers or those thinking of trying your hand at this....It doesnt take a professionaly trained graphic artist to do a so called "x-ray" (unless this place starts demanding credentials) or 1000's of lines of instructions. Anyone willing to take the time and learn his tools can manage the task with the right photo. There is no x-ray bible, though some here believe it has been written.

Will the controversies ever end? Not a chance as long as this thread exists.

 

Ive been a member since feb 2008 and just only started posting x-rays, the reason is ive been perfecting my skills x-raying celebs during that time, some of my posts r good and some isnt. No one in this thread is a expert if u do think you are a expert go somewhere else, because we r all treated equally in this thread! fakes or no fakes its just a picture. I know that iam called a newbie but so was everyone else when they joined, it doesnt happen overnight but as you progress over time you do become skilled at x-rays.
So lets get past this hurdle and continue posting our great work. Thanks for your time.

 

Maybe you should all just stop bitching, I've never seen so much bitching in a thread full of so many good things. Thank you to everyone who has done x rays, if you don't like what someone did, you don't think its close enough, thats fine, but just keep it to yourself and please don't ruin this great thread. Criticizing the work of someone else is not needed here.

doesn´t count exclusively in this thread, of course. there are quite a few threads around on phun where people contribute their work started with good intentions, but quite obviously sooner or later there´s a competition, a rating, a poll... dunno why.
as for me posting stuff on phun isn´t about winning something.

From the start, i have seen nothing but these two guys defend what they do.
I dont blame them for giving up.
If i was getting slammed from all sides by assholes everyday i would say Well fuck this!

Yes, terrapin had a hard time from evilcorporatewhore when he first started if I remember correctly, but he kept on going

 

I've been following this thread since it's beginning. Is there anybody left doing x-rays? ;-) ... Seriously, before my request, let me put my 2 cents in. Newbies: shut up. If you don't like something, keep it to yourself. I prefer the work over some of the current and previous contributers to that of some others, but I don't come out and say, "that's crap." And if you're not x-raying and posting them, then you should really shut the hell up. Learn Photoshop and say, "Hey, {whoever}, look what I was able to get out of this."

Now... Here are 4 HR pics of Kerrie Walsh. I couldn't find any good frontal pics of Misty May. It was hard to find these 4 of Kerrie because all the photographers take pics of their asses. Not that I blame them. ;-)

2 - Requests Answered.

No repeat requests. No calling out ANY photo, blaringly fake or not. Post your work and be done. Excessive fakes can be delt with by mods, which im sure they would be happy to do if the thread was as simple as this. Never enjoyed discussion in this thread but I'm just one guy, and that clearly by posting this im a hypocrite. (I can call out my own faults tyvw! )

I dont need any of you, n00bs or vets alike (like that matters??!!?), telling me what I'm looking at. Some ppl feel this need to advertise their opinion, like they are saving us viewers from the big bad faker. Somehow I am so dumb I can't see it for myself, or make my own decision on a pic? For me, thats been part of the fun. Ppl only do that to make themselves feel better. It's an elitist, egotistical attitude.

You want to XRay. Then XRay. Get to it. Chop chop. Show me them skills. There are alot of pics that need doing. Nuff QQ, more nude nude!

What we need here is a moderator to remove all the texts and just be happy about the pictures, yes thats what im saying - no to freedom of speech, its clearly we could need some mod to just remove all text but the celebs name/location.
