    Yeah. I think it might be the best basketball movie ever, but I think Hoosiers is too tear-jerky.

    Baseball: Bull Durham. Honorable mention to Eight Men Out. Just behind are The Natural, Field of Dreams, and Major League. The original Bad News Bears deserves mention behind those.
    Basketball: White Men Can't Jump. Hoosiers is too fucking saccharine. Coach Carter is underrated.
    Football: The Longest Yard (the original). All the Right Moves is probably second but Friday Night Lights is close. Any Given Sunday is pretty good but basically a workmanlike movie without a heart. Rudy is overrated, as is Brian's Song. Jerry Maguire isn't really about football.
    Hockey: If you consider Strange Brew to be a hockey movie, it wins; otherwise Slapshot. Miracle and Mystery, Alaska are both good.
    Golf: Billy Madison beats out Tin Cup. Caddyshack is good, but probably the most overrated comedy of all time.
    Tennis: There isn't one. The original Sabrina is good but tennis is ancillary, not the focus.
    Bobsledding: Cool Runnings.
    Boxing: Rocky.

    I totally forgot about Mystery,. ALaska. I'd like to change that and also White Men Can't Jump for basketball(yes I already forgot about it)

    Golf is Happy GIlmor though not Billy Madison SJFAN

    Good pick. I had Rocky, but I was wrong; Raging Bull is better.

    In fact, Raging Bull might be the best sports movie ever. I'd have to think about it.

    In addition to making the obvious change to Happy Gilmore, I add A League of Their Own to Honorable mentions for baseball.

    And I replace Rocky with Raging Bull, moving Rocky to honorable mention for boxing.

    Raging Bull is with Robert Dinero, based on Rock Marciano's career. It's fucking epic, to steal a word from SJ. The ring scenes are amazing. Rent it some night Nikki, you won't regret it.

    It was the first boxing movie to pop up in my mind. Didn't even consider Rocky, which was an excellent movie too by the by.

    Martin Scorsese in his prime directing Robert Deniro in his prime. It's pretty phenomenal.

    (But it's about Jake Lamotta's career, not Marciano's.)
