Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     How do you people download so many pics so fast? To download those high res pics would take me forever... Or do you ever hot link from other forums?

    I use hotlinking wher they are few but in general i re-up them myself.

    I use download managers,then upload them to an imagehost and just post the links.

    I know there's no hotlinking allowed but I also know that people do it. It's very obvious on some of the hosts ... like Imagebeaver. But since it's an approved host I never report those.

    I reup them...it just takes damn forever for me to do it :(

    626 down and 1772 up but that's to an approved host - if I ran that same test on an image host it would be far less than that. It's not really the speed - it's the type of files that is limited.. ie pdf files would get full bandwidth - jpg gets only about 1/4 of that and wmv or any other movied or music file gets 0 - it's banned here.

    You have 1772 up speed?
    Damn 26.5 is my top speed for anything.

    The highest upload speed for any ISP in Greece is 1 Mbps when the maximum download is 24 but there are very few that get these speeds.
    I for example will never get above 4 Mbps without disconnection problems. Fucking telephone company..........:(

    We have a shared T1 line. Those speeds change at any point in the day - it just depends on how many users is doing what. We send medical images for diagnostic review to other places throughout the state. If I were to run that same test in the middle of a submission it would be far less. Same as if I were to come in at a low time of downloads my download speed would be far more.

    Like I said, we have a shared line. That's shared b/t about 500 people in all but usually about 100 - 150 at a time during the day. It would be great if I were the only one on it. You can tell a huge difference on the weekends and nights as opposed to during normal working hours.

    We've got 768 kbps total speed with 1/2 allocated to uploads and 1/2 allocated to downloads. Then we futher restrict by filetypes. You have to understand...this is a business so we have many people throughout the day sending insurance claims, bills, diagnostic images, all kinds of stuff. Then on the flip side of that the same people are downloading the results from those processed claims....etc from the business. So to keep the working speed as high as possible we restrict anything we know that's not "official" business. We (being IT) can open it temporarily at any time but we just don't do it.

    Yeah everything finished for the day. Only got to clean my room but I shall leave that for the gf when she comes over tomorrow :D. Went to watch mamma mia today, it sounds faggoty but i thought it was ok. Fucking tickets were sold out for the dark night for the second time so i still haven't watched it yet!

    I watch stuff like that with the wife from time to time. I never saw the batman previous to this one so I haven't seen the Dark Knight either. I always wait till they come out on dvd anyway - can't stand paying for the tickets. Cheap I guess.

    Im alright with the tickets, one of the boys works at the movies so i usually only pay for popcorn :D. Yeah i had to watch it with my gf, wasn't too bad. Bit gay at times how they randomly burst into song! What have you been up to today?
