    I thought the cast have/had some sort of problems with the show's creator. Do they do these events for the fans and forget about the issues?

    Joss Whedon is apprantly known for running toxic workplaces. For example, he berated Charisma Carpenter for getting fat when she was pregnant. I don't think he had much to do with this project, though, other than presumably playing the intellectual property rights and stuff.

    Whedon is a dickhead but a very talented dickhead and in Hollywood that's unfortunately not an uncommon thing. He got MeToo-ed over treatment of some actresses like Charisma and screwing around on his wife with someone on one of his shows. No one has come out and said it was me! but if you connect the dots you can figure out who it likely was.
