    maybe you don't beat up your truck as much as i do. :p

    Mine couldn't handle my routine drives i put through a hunting truck, ie. off road, driving onto unplowed fields, driving on snow and mud, etc. I don't abuse my trucks but i put more wear and tear miles through them than most people. so if all you do is travel on the road then that might be so, but that isn't what i do. Like i said, yours probably gets better than 8 miles to the gallon on the freeway, that was what mine was getting. :p

    You may be right my man.....the most work mine sees is dragging my boat (The Dry Martini) a 1/4 mile down the road to the lake! lol :p

    As far as mileage is concerned...she's good for about 12 around town, and maybe 16-18 on the highway. She's not a cheap date by any stretch. lol

    mine was the 5.7 liter engine and it gets worse than your truck does in the city than mine did on the freeway. :lol:

    Mine had nice amenities i added to it, but in the end i couldn't justify paying all the expenses for a dedicated hunting truck. so i am now searching for a new one!:D

    It was completely for shit on the mpg when I first got it, then I added the K&N air setup, and a Flowmaster exhaust. She breathes MUCH better now, sounds great, and I know that's where I picked up the extra mpg.

    i added those as well, but i think where i lost the mileage was the 7 inch lift and the super charger. I took it out later on before i sold it but by then it still suck for mileage. :(

    it has been a decade since i did it to my 98 silverado, but i think i paid like around $2,000 for the vortech supercharger and $800 for installation.
