Well this was an eventful evening. Atleast the news talked about something else than covid. My mom is feeling better but is tired. While she has been able too sleep it hasnt been too much quality on it. I hope D.C. still stands tomorrow.

I'm shocked and very angry, but in a way not that surprised.

You feed people a mushroom diet for 4 years, lied to them about the results of the election, told them (and continued to tell them) the election had been robbed,
then invite them to a rally, light the blue touch paper, say you'll lead them to the Capitol building and then...

Protest, yes, mob rule no.

No one can say they didn't see this coming.

Questions need to be asked, how were they allowed to get in?
How was it allowed to go on for hours..

The mob when saw the sign to Pelosi's office, torn it down and ransacked the office.

That just wasn't the Pelosi's office, its not just about one person, that's the office of the Speaker.
That was Tip O'Neill's office and speakers dating back to the mid 19th Century.

They then entered the Chamber and treated it like a selfie opp at Disneyworld.

Last time anything happened like this? 1812 when the British burnt down the White House.

I love the USA and everything it stands for.

Among my heroes since i was a child were TR and FDR.

Respect to Pence (who i really really don't agree with his views before this)
stepped up, grew a pair and defended the Constitution and called in the National Guard.


The 25th amendment now needs to be enacted, this is not impeachment.
Its a vote by the Cabinet to put the VP in Command until Jan 20th.

Plus all those that did what they did (including the tattoo guy with the horns)
learn that their deeds, their actions have consequences.

Was reminded on my SM feed the other day about how in the early days of MTV during an interview with them, he had the guts to call them out for their lack of airtime for black artists. A very crucial moment that gets forgotten about, much like The Beatles being openly aghast about black musicians in this country being segregated and not allowed in so many places back then. Bowie was a trailblazer who didn't care if he upset the norm as he didn't see normal as a good thing necessarily (you and I both agree normal is overrated, we've talked about this ), definitely missed but he had to go back to his home planet (Ziggy Stardust if that went over anyones head here).
