While im not a huge fan of the republican party, i have always felt that there was something very down to earth about McCain to me. He just had a friendly side to him so to speak. It wouldnt make me vote for them ( i cant of course). A sidenote of course but since you brpught it up.

On Trump, as much as it pains me to say, he's played all the opposition on his visit.
It would be ironic for him if what defeats him is his use of tariffs and the effect it has/will on the economy,

 

That is pretty much the perfect amount of body tan in my book. So many over do it and look like burnt bacon. I personally have very pale skin and should avoid to much taning.

 

I agree, (I'm a Australian I know about the effects of the sun on skin) plus the time she must spend on the gym to achieve that body.

They've been talking about Mexican Paps Potato Camera's, maybe but they need to take into account the distance they're taken from? and the heat haze effect?

Without being a nutritional expert or doctor she has what i would consider a healthy thin body. So many celebs struggle with finding a good balance. To be frank it sickens me in a sense we have a culture that we do that focuses so much on looks.

 

Glad you woke up to something pleasant lol. I miss having that metabolism, I'm not even much older than her yet I gain weight looking at food.

Yeah, she isn't exactly a Kardashian in terms of putting herself out there for paps. Odds are, these were taken from quite the long distance.

Eisenhower would be called a crazy, free-spending socialist, liberal communist in todays Repub Party. He signed the bill that created our Interstate Highway system, expanded Social Security and continued various New Deal platforms, contributed to the end of McCarthyism(albeit privately), enforced racial integration of schools, signed the Civil Rights Act, promoted education, established NASA, and in his farewell address he expressed his concerns about the dangers of massive military spending, deficit spending and government contracts to private military manufacturers. And these quotes are also attributed to him:

"we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military–industrial complex."

"I have just one purpose ... and that is to build up a strong progressive Republican Party in this country. If the right wing wants a fight, they are going to get it ... before I end up, either this Republican Party will reflect progressivism or I won't be with them anymore."

Can you imagine someone in the party saying or proposing anything like this in 2019? He would be categorized as a massive leftist now and would be lucky to get any percentage points in a Repub primary.

Eisenhower was my Moms first President in her life and he was from nearby Kansas, so I got plenty of history lessons regarding the politics of that time and history has always fascinated me anyway. Eisenhower was really the last of the Repubs on a national level before they started their rightward evangelical 'put all the money in the military' tilt, which is amazing considering he was a General. The party would ban him if he was around today, hell both major parties might.

 

We get to claim him as a Texan tho

Well the national day in Sweden. I guess the Royal family will head to Skansen as the tradition proclaims. The normal swede is merely satisfied with having the option to sleep in and maybe put up the banner on the flag pole. Nice weaher out if nothing else and around 25 degrees.
