She could retire tomorrow and not have to worry.

 

Money yes, enough for the rest of her life (and several lifetimes after that) but what do you retire from when your
entire "Career" exists on self promotion? retiring sounds like stepping back from the public eye.

Remove that and there's no more self promotion, its like lower down the ladder and You Tube "Celebrities".
Take away their You Tube Platforms and they become hasbeens that are soon replaced by newly models.

How many of the "Kendals" are there from the Red Carpet from 5 or 10 or 15 years ago?

When i was growing up i was taught, Celebrity is fickle, talent endures, doesn't always succeed, but endures.

I know what i'd like to be remembered for.

 

While I agree with you, I don't think she cares about her legacy. She just wants to be the "it" girl and milk that as long as possible.

 

I know somebody (family friend) that was known for her looks 30 years ago in the UK, 30 years on and she isn't but she's still around, she never based her success on her looks, but her talent.

I wonder if Kendall in 30 years time will think the same?

Its just i wish people (in general) would be famous for being talented, not because they're being themselves in a reality show.

For my own gender, it annoys me when the Kendal's of this world turn up at Award ceremonies looking like they're going to the beach with a dress on top, ok fine for a wank about it, but if Kendal (and others) were remembered in 5 years time for some talent rather than having a hot bod.

Yes she's made mega millions out of it, good for her, Andy Warhol was right.

But if i had a daughter (or a son), i'd rather they inspire to be a Olivia Colman (who worked as a cleaner to make money in between acting jobs) who now has a Best Actress Oscar for talent, than Kendal just for her looks, like a old song said "nice work if you can get it", but i'd sooner my daughter or son inspire to this.

I have friends, young actors who are so talented but its likely they'll never make the big time, they're doing waiting jobs (sometimes several jobs) but i'd admire them even if they don't make the big time, but get applause from a audience in a play they're in, rather than Kendal "oh look i'm nearly showing my pussy lips" Jenner.

I mentioned the You Tubers yesterday, but fair enough to some of them they're being pro-active and using that platform.

I've got friends at drama school who are making their diploma films this week (they'll use it to promote themselves to agents) they've written, produced, sourced extras, props, all the background stuff, all while (some of them) working two jobs. I see them, they're really talented & its a sad reality the majority of them will never "Make it" or if they're really really lucky they'll work for years doing crap roles (like Daisy Ridley) and then become a "overnight success".

I think Sophie Turner is hot, and is very good at being Sophie Turner and working the media, but as a actor i find her really wooden (i had thought it was just that Sansa was wooden, but look at x-Men/Josie, she gives wooden a bad name) Maisie Williams, maybe not as hot to some as Sophie is a far better actor, plus while she's only been in the business for 7 years? is using her own money (and what influence she has) to help others begin their careers.

I wonder if the Kendal's of this world are doing that?

I agree, but there's talking about the Kendal's of this World and then there's the effect and influence they have.

I've looked at it this way for a while, the Kendal/Kardashian's will have their time (just like the Osbourne's & others before them).
One day sooner or later Kendall will eventually become old news, some will say her looks are fading, that her body isn't as "perfect".

But they will have their millions to make them feel better, but what of all their young female followers?

They think she's perfect, they look up to her (and others) and if they're going to be successful they need to look like them,
they need have to have bodies like them, buy their products, the look, the replicas of the clothes they wear.

But there's girls (and guys) that look in the mirror and see fat when fat isn't there, so they diet, they lose weight
but its still not enough for them to look like their idols.

So they have to have bigger tits, ass, perfect teeth, they cannot have any faults, because their idols are perfect.

They don't take into account, the photo shoots were Kendall's body is photoshopped or the experts that prepare
her for the red carpet, the diets, the excercises, how they purge to make that "Celebs"/models look like that.

How models live on cotton wool and orange juice up in the days to a fashion show.

The Kendal's of this world, recent past and future are continuing this and young people are suffering for it.

Young people who think they need to be perfect and are suffering for it, its about body image.

Thanks, its been there since the Silent Movie days, (wanting to be like your idol) but now its being directed at Young and Younger people 24/7.

 

If we're lucky, in 30 years time Kendall and all the Kardashian's will be a remembered as a Bad Fad that we thought was cool at the time (Pet Rock pehaps).
