I've seen "The Dark Knight" 4 times on the Big Screen (once on a Imax Screen) love Heath Ledger.

 

I saw it on the big screen too, absolutely packed. The Dark Knight would have been great without him, but with him and this legendary performance it became an all-time favorite of mine and a legitimate Oscar contender. Yes, a comic book movie in the running for Best Picture, that's how damn good he was in this. It's just impossible now for me to see anyone else as The Joker.

 

I used to agree with this but after seeing Joaquin Phoenix in this teaser, I'm pretty hyped for his performance

 

So agree, Jared Leto's Joker never did it for me, he was acting all the time.

Heath Ledger made his Joker real, he was a monster, but you could feel his pain,
you believed his back story.
Jared was Comic Book and would of fitted in well with Adam West's Batman,
even if i did love the 1960's Batman.

Heath's death was such a loss.

Meanwhile
Saoirse Ronan was on the Graham Norton Show last night, along with Timothée Chalamet.

A friend set me this, if you were thinking of buying the sweater Timothée was wearing, it will hurt your plastic.

Ok its McQueen, but it's off the shelf, ok its probably not his and it was sent to his management for him to wear.

Yes i know it was probably cheap compared to Saoirse's dress, but for fucks sake.

If you're asking me would i accept it, probably, but if i could afford to buy it.
I'd want to balance it out, by giving the equivalent to somewhere where £935 could make a huge difference.

When Saoirse was talking about her Wonder Woman horse that "The Horse knew he was good looking", i said "Just like Timothée".

If i had to choose between Stephen Mangan or Timothée, Stephen every time.

If you see the interview, check out that Timothée whenever anyone is talking,
he's sitting there looking straight at them, his hands on his knees listening intently
as if he's auditioning for Young Sherlock Holmes.

If i was being kind, i'd say the others are very good at being themselves, but Timothée finds it harder.
His reaction to Saoirse's Florida story reminded me of a teenage guy trying to impress a girl, again being
kind again maybe he's just uncomfortable in interviews and he wouldn't be the first.

Yes it was, and if you delve into the whole situation it was preventable. What if he had been checked on hours earlier instead of left alone/ignored? Or not surrounded by enablers and people who didn't give a shit? Sad; he was surrounded by 'friends' yet ridiculously alone.

Any time A Knight's Tale is on I am reminded how great Sossoman and he made an otherwise terrible story into a good watch.

 

Seeing tonight

 

I remember seeing him in "10 Things I hate about you", the film wasn't extraordinary, but he was so good.

 

Yup, another mediocre story (the screenplay not the Hamlet of it) made watchable by Stiles and he acting the hell out of it.

 

Paul Bettany helped too

 

And Mark Addey, and likewise with 10 things, Larry Miller and Larissa Olynik and others.
A good cast and/or up and coming group can turn a pile into something decent.
