    She's left now.
My Aunt spoke to her and me that a lot had been said on both sides over the year.
That you can get to a stage when you think there's no way back and did we want to be like this for the rest of our lives.

It's amazing how we can contrive to screw up our lives! My sister's neighbour, a widow, was apparently establishing a new relationship with a really nice guy. I've met him and I liked him.
Then it transpired that they'd fallen out and the relationship was completely off! My sister asked what had gone wrong, and she admitted that they'd fallen out about Brexit! She'd seemingly used some very harsh words!
My sister told her she was crazy to let an issue like that interfere in personal relationships, and told her not to be such a fool and to get straight on the phone and make things right with him! She did, and things appear to be OK again.

Pride and dignity have a lot to answer for!

Fuck, and I thought my family issues were bad:eek::maniac:

Pride goes before a fall. It's sad what pride can do in family situations, where we just dig in and refuse to admit we did or said anything wrong by just not speaking to them. My uncle did that with my grandpa, didn't speak for years til my grandpa died and it destroyed him, he's never been the same person since. I'm so happy for you, group hug Sophie:grouphug:

Thanks for saying that, we've got some way to go, but it's a good beginning.

I'm just about to fill my face with a pub lunch, then I'm off to Centrepoint, then I'm going boxing, then home, bath, TV, bed (but not too early) then it will be Monday and back to work.

Did you follow the traditional ritual of removing your Christmas paraphernalia on 12th night (yesterday)? I did, out of habit, but my detached neighbours took theirs down on New Year's Day!
    What's the London routine?

Apparently some Zoos will accept a certain quantity of time-expired Christmas trees as fodder for some animals!

Didn't know that, thinks I don't think I can bring my Christmas tree (if I had a real one) on the bus to London Zoo.

I think some places with big zoos ( I think London might qualify?) have special collections. Support your local Giraffes, or whatever! Maybe local Councils have arrangements with them?

It would probably be only for the Borough London Zoo is in.

Actually it's probably politically incorrect to call them Zoos nowadays - I suspect "Animal Conservation and Study Centres" is nearer the mark currently.
And it's not that long since I too discovered the unlikely truth that certain herbivores love a bit of Spruce! So much ecology to absorb these days!

We represent people & stage things.

    Meanwhile
Boss is away until February, Woman called Karen starting this afternoon filling in for her.
She's organised, really organised, hope its not going to end up like that episode of West Wing
where Bartlett was ill and the VP had resigned and the Speaker of the House became acting POTUS.

I started my BT career in planning and design of telephone networks and exchanges, but late in my career I picked up responsibility for Marketing, to which Public Relations was added later. I found these last two involvements great fun, especially the PR, which seemed very glamorous compared to Planning! We regularly used external agencies like yours sounds it might be - some happy memories!

    Your turn will come!
