Amateur X-Ray Thread (NEW)

Can you tell I've had a lot of time on my hands today?

 

This one was pretty LQ, but here's what I managed to pull out of it.

 

C-through is absolutely right, let's keep to the thread rules. I have seen quite a few really good xray threads go right down the tubes because of people repeatedly over-posting requests. This thread has managed to hold together quite well, and will continue to do so as long as everyone follows the rules.

No idea! Just filling a requst. But I don't blame you for wanting to find out!

 

but I forgot to layer the chest area, and rather than start over I decided that it would do as-is.

 

I think I did a decent job with the girl on the left, but I couldn't get a good enough bead on the nipple and areola with the girl in the middle so I just did a contrast/brightness and left it at that, and got nothing with the girl on the right. But here it is!

 

who posted the original image? I can't find it anywhere in the last 10-15 pages

 

Actually, I believe it is from a different forum. I have been doing some moonlighting where they aren't as fortunate to have xrayers like c-through and jpeep1es. Since I'm filling requests from two forums, I post all my results in both forums, so everyone can see everything I've done.

 

I've been experimenting with different methods of acheiving the xray effect on a friend of mine (sorry for the hackneyed censoring). I want your opinions, especially the resident xray experts, as to which method produces the most desirable effect.



(1) Normal.
(2) Brightness/Contrast only, opacity 60%.
(3) Same as (2) but opacity 100%.
(4) Added airbrush, opacity 60%.
(5) Same as (4), but opacity 85%.
(6) Airbrushed surrounding area also, opacity 60%.
(7) Same as (6), but opacity %85.

I want to know whether the brightness/contrast is not enough, or if people think that the airbrushing is abuse of artistic license, or they prefer it, and at what opacity. Let me know what you think and why, and I'll keep working on requests.

There's a forum at Dumpstersluts.com that has an xray thread. It has some decent work on it, but nothing close to the quality of C-through or Jpeep1es, which is why I've been picking up requests there to sharpen my skills without looking terrible next to the masters here.

I hate to say it, but the weekend is over, and I must return to the working world. I'll be back next weekend!

 

Personally I don't use any of the drawing tools (brush, airbrush, smudge, blur, etc) since you're actually altering the pixels beyond just the brightness, contrast, and hue. You are adding to the picture instead of just enhancing what is already there.

If you start using the drawing tools then it's technically not an X-ray but a fake. If the details can't be brought out, then drawing them on doesn't make sense to me as that's not what is there. You even have to be careful with the burn tool as you can make it look like there is detail where there isn't any if you're not careful. Your work will look better if you're actually bringing out what is hidden instead of painting it on too.

Remember, not all pictures can be done properly, so don't force it (and make it up) if there's nothing there. Everyone here wants to see what they look like under their clothes, not just have nipples drawn on at random.
