To be fair, I only know of her from boards like this and even then, I find using the number of Twitter or other social media followers as a qualifier is a bit.....reaching? Anyway, it seems you agreed with me in the whole "it's all subjective, some people are more known to some sections of society than others". Like, I knew Taylor Swift's name but until this year, I'd never heard any of her music and didn't know what she looked like, since it's not the kind of music I listen to. Aside from discussions about Alexandra Daddario and the leaks of Alison Brie and Jane Levy, a lot of those who get posted here are women I've never heard of before browsing here, especially if they're professional models.

It's like when wrestling fans assume people like John Cena are globally known megastars, which just isn't true. Where I'm from, the only wrestlers that non-wrestling fans could name are Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks and Hulk Hogan. They'd recognise The Rock because of his myriad of Hollywood films but wouldn't know he was a wrestler.

As I said two paragraphs ago - as well as in the post you quoted and then removed parts of to make your point, while taking out the parts that showed we're in agreement, possibly to start another argument with someone for no reason at all - it all depends on what you're interested in.

 

Despite the fact that I recognize nearly every name posted in Celeb Photos, I couldn't tell you what 90% of them are famous for where the actors are concerned. I don't what TV show they're on or movie they star in (unless it's in the title) because I'm really not that interested in them, so I get where you're coming from. So, for me, social media popularity is as good a metric as any when evaluating "celebrity." It's easy to reference and doesn't require a lot of deliberation to justify.

Fully agree, but I think it's just to keep the categories accurate more than anything. Otherwise it would be one section jammed with hundreds of women famous, amateur, etc.

On a side note, I've discovered many new gorgeous women on phun even when they were not super famous... So I fully agree with your sentiment
